1. Using the TV screen
- First switch on the PC or your device and log in.
- Press the power button on the remote control while pointing it at the TV screen. You should see a picture.
- The device often recognizes the correct source itself. If this is not the case, press the Source button and select the correct connection. The designations may vary slightly from room to room and even within the room. However, the principle remains the same. On the far left, “TV” is listed as the source, followed by the stationary PC, which is displayed as “Stationary PC” or simply “PC” depending on the room. It can always be found directly to the right of “TV”. One further to the right - if connected to the HDMI cable and switched on - your own device is displayed as the source. This can be labeled as “HDMI 2” or “PC”. It is always located directly to the right of the stationary PC. Below you will find some display examples. The Stationary PC source is circled in red, the source of your own laptop in blue.
- Make sure that the image of your laptop/the screen of the stationary PC is also transmitted to the TV screen. If this is not the case, press the Windows key and the P key at the same time. You can now choose between various options. To display the same image on both screens, select “Duplicate”.

3. troubleshooting
If problems occur, first try to find out where the problem lies. Go through the instructions again step by step and check that all the necessary steps have been taken. If you are using your own device, also try whether the problem occurs with the stationary PC aswell (if there are no problems, use the stationairy PC). If none of this helps, write an email to it-support[at]psychologie.uni-heidelberg.de describing the problem as thoroughly as possible. Include pictures if necessary. ⚠️A detailed description of the problem and the situation is essential so that we can solve the problem.⚠️
Note: Do you still have questions about operation? Write us an email with a request for a technical introduction. If you have any suggestions for improving this guide, please send an email to it-support[at]psychologie.uni-heidelberg.de with the subject “Suggestion Knowledgebase lecture halls”. Thank you very much!
