  4. optionally shut down your own device

3. Raumfunktionen

The touchpad is not only used to operate the projector. It can also be used to control the lighting and dimming of the rooms.
To access the room functions, select the “Raumfunktionen” button at the bottom right of the menu.
On the left, you can select the various lights in the room. The darkening can be controlled in the middle.
To return to the menu view, tap the “Zurück” button at the bottom right.

4. microfone

The lecture hall has a microphone that can be attached to your own clothing and is automatically connected to the room's loudspeakers if the projector system is switched on. All you have to do is switch it on.
To switch it on, fold down the front cover and press the On/Off button. To switch it off, press it again.
The volume of the microphone can be controlled using the arrow buttons on the right-hand side of the touchpad.
It is also possible to use only the microphone without the projector. To do this, select the “kein PC/Beamer (nur Mikrofon)” button in the menu. Here too, please shut down the system via (2x!) “System OFF”.

5. troubleshooting

There are several problems that can occur for various reasons when using the system. The methodical approach is important here. Below you will find some possible problems for which a simple solution is often possible. If you cannot solve the problem, please send an email to it-support[at]psychologie.uni-heidelberg.de. Please fill out the bug report which is available in the lecture hall (possibly in one of the drawers).

⚠️⚠️ Please do not touch the fuse box ⚠️⚠️

1. the projector is off (no light recognizable, no fan noise)

Make sure that you have selected the correct input source. If you want to transmit from your own device, the tile “Anschluss Mitte HDMI" must be highlighted in yellow. If all tiles are red, nothing has been selected; then select a connection and wait briefly. Watch out for LEDs on the projector; it should come on after a while and a fan noise should be heard (if the room is quiet).

2. the projector only shows a blue image

This is a sign that the projector is on but is not receiving a signal. First make sure that your end device is transmitting (e.g. Windows + P). Then select the correct input source.

3. the projector does not turn on even when switching on the touchscreen

If the projector has been set to standby mode, you must restart the system to wake it up. To do this, select “System AUS” twice from the menu and wait until the loading bar has run through. Then start the presentation as described above (start PC or device, select input source). The projector should then turn on again.

If you have access to the remote control, you can also switch on the projector using the “Power” or “On/Off” switch. It will take up to one minute to start up. During this time, the projector will not respond to any further inputs; please listen out for fan noises and the LEDs.

4. the beamer's fan works, but no light is visible

This is an indication that the lamp in the projector is defective. Please report this to the IT department immediately.
