Playful Awakening of Positive Emotions: Resource Group for Depressive Patients

Direction: Dr. Miriam SteinDr. Miriam Stein and: Dr. Christina HeroldDr. Christina Herold

Aims and contents of the group:

Experiencing positive feelings is a major contributor to our mental health. However, during a depressive episode it is often difficult to experience positive feelings. In this group we therefore want to explicitly search for positive feelings and experience them together in exercises. Among other things, we cover the following topics:

  • Joy, pleasure and humour
  • Enjoyment with all senses
  • Interest/curiosity, trying out new things
  • Courage, tolerance of uncertainty and mistakes
  • Gratitude, satisfaction and pride

Building on the experiences in the group, we will consider how you can also awaken or consciously perceive positive feelings in your everyday life and thus achieve more confidence. All inner critics are also invited to join in, you might even make yours smile.

Confidentiality:

The group is closed, meaning no new participants will join the ongoing group. All discussed topics will be kept strictly confidential.

Group therapy: Coping with loneliness

Direction: Eva-Maria PfistererEva-Maria Pfisterer and: Dr. Ina Peiker

Aims and contents of the group:

Although loneliness is often perceived as weakness, it is actually a natural reaction to certain life-changing situations. There can be many reasons for this: separations and divorces, the loss of important attachment figures (e.g. through moving to a new place), negative experiences or anxiety in relationships. The experience of loneliness occurs when we wish for more closeness and social relationships than we currently have. The group 'Coping with Loneliness' is about dealing with the issue of loneliness in one's own life, understanding one's own situation and thought processes better, but also working out new ways of dealing with loneliness.

  • Understanding the causes of loneliness
  • Clarifying wishes and needs for friends, acquaintances and partners
  • Getting to know thought patterns that can be the cause of loneliness
  • Improve your relationship with yourself
  • Dealing with loneliness situations appropriately and constructively
  • Learning to strengthen and use social resources
  • Making new contacts, finding people and making connections
