The aim of this project is to investigate (a) which conditional factors influence whether gifted secondary school students participate in enrichment programs, (b) what role the attitudes of parents, teachers and classmates play and (c) whether an intervention can increase the motivation of students to participate in enrichment programs.

Minimal interventions

Within the project Minimal Interventions, we aim to test and refine brief interventions to enhance motivation, well-being, and scholastic achievement among students in Germany. Currently, Joachim Herz Stiftung funds the project in its second funding phase. Further information on the project can be found here.
STAV-Psych - Student selection procedure for Psychology in Baden-Württemberg

The STAV-Psych BaWü project network, comprising the Universities of Freiburg, Heidelberg, Mannheim, Tübingen and Ulm, is dedicated to the development and implementation of a selection procedure for allocating study places in the Bachelor's degree program in Psychology. In May 2022, the newly devised test procedure was administered for the first time across seven test locations in and around Baden-Württemberg. Admission statistics for the winter semester 2022/23 indicate that a good result in the STAV-Psych test significantly enhances one’s chances of securing a study place.
Funded from March 2019 to June 2022 under the "State Strategy for Aptitude and Selection", through funding line 4 of the Successful Studying in Baden-Württemberg Fund, the project network was coordinated by the Institute of Psychology at Heidelberg University.
