Change management in the field of higher education - An evaluation of the strategic implementation at the university of Heidelberg

Goal of our strategic planning is a positioning of the University of Heidelberg in the top league of European universities. In accordance to its claim of excellence the university of Heidelberg should gain notice as a worldwide high-ranking university. Implementing this strategic plan involves drastic changes. This process is being supported from our organizational psychological side and will be evaluated.

This research project should for one help realizing this strategy (Implementational Perspective). On the other side the change management should be evaluated and relevant cause/effect interrelations identified (Evaluational Perspective). Helpful and obstructive conditions at a German university should be discussed as well as the understanding of effect mechanisms and determining factors improved. Another focus will be on the consequences for all participants involved in the change management.
