DFG-Projekt Kompetenzdiagnostik

Fu 173/11-1; 173/14-1, 173/14-2)

Laufzeit: 10/2007-09/2009; 03/2010-10/2014

Mitarbeiter: Dipl.-Psych. Samuel Greiff (bis 01/2012), Dipl.-Psych. Sascha Wüstenberg (via DIPF bis 12/2012); Dipl.-Psych. Helen Fischer; studentische Hilfskräfte (grossteils via DIPF, siehe http://f20.blog.uni-heidelberg.de/2009/12/02/pisa-entwicklungsteam/): Claudia Dombois, Kathrin Exner, Maren Häcker, Florian Hofmann, Jacub Limanowski, Ursula Pöll, Judith Raeke, Pablina Roth, Bettina Zweck.

Summary

A theory-based development of tasks to assess problem-solving in dynamic situations

The diagnosis of competencies for the key qualification “problem solving" is provided a new basis by using computer-simulated scenarios. The paradigm of self-regulated learning is concerned with discovering and practising coherences in dynamic systems. By assuming that a rational construction of tasks is necessary, the project will focus on the “recognition of causal structures", “dynamics” and “goals” as distinct aspects within the problem-solving process. With regard to their complexity and dynamics as well as their semantic embedding, the freely scalable formalisms “Finite automata" and “Linear structure equations" provide very good conditions for constructing phased difficulties of tasks. The focus of the application lies, on the one hand, on a theory-based model of problem-solving competencies regarding complex areas of reality, while on the other hand it focuses on the development and empirical testing of computer-based dynamic measurements for the area of problem solving.
