Abstract

The main goal of this project is to improve the personnel selection in the public health system in Germany. First of all it focuses on nursing personnel selection, presenting an extensive analysis of the present used methods in schools and hospitals. Secondly, the implicit and explicit selection criteria offered by personnel managers are being disclosed. Further, in questioning trainees and employees critical incidents have been collected. The third step is to reflect these demands in corresponding selection methods. A central question is, which competence is needed in the nursing education. The project also plans a conversion into more hospital specific work advertising, and a key of judgement. In the last part of the project an evaluation of the new methods is presented; i.e. an improvement of the social validity, the practicability and test-theoretical concepts.
