Research interests

Chris is interested in human (pseudo-)contingency learning and especially in when and why humans err in their judgements thereof. In a collaboration between the CRISP team and the research group around Prof. Henk Aarts and Dr. Ruud Custers at Utrecht University, he investigates how erroneous action-outcome beliefs arise and how people test the validity of communicated beliefs about action-outcome representations. In a second line of research, Chris models decision strategies in restless bandit tasks in order to analyze how people deal with continuously changing options. He has joined the CRISP team in 2016, after receiving his bachelor and master's degrees in psychology here at the University of Heidelberg.
