Trial of a two-shift system in the area of vocational education of junior employees, industrial project, research period 2001-2005. Audi AG.
The current vocational training concept of a major German automaker is based on a completely new length of training model: a switching two shift operation in the educational centers as well as in the learning stations close to production.
The new length of training model aims at balancing a 40% rise in the accession rate of trainees with shifted training periods (6 am - 2 pm vs. 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm) from the second trainee year on.
It can be expected that this innovation will have (extensive) consequences for the trainees, trainers, the executing organization and the quality of the vocational training. In this project two major company sites will be analysed.
